The Bollywood remake of Guillem Morales’ 2010 Spanish film ‘Julia’s Eyes’ starring Taapsee Pannu is now available on the Vi app. This Hindi-language psychological horror opens with a spooky, palm-sweating scene where protagonist Gayatri (Taapsee Pannu) is seen arguing with someone, only for viewers to realize she’s in there all by herself. The rest of the story is focused on Gayatri trying to uncover the real truth behind her sister Gautami’s mysterious death, among many other things.
Set in the picturesque hills of Uttarakhand, the film also features excellent camera work that will have the viewers fully engaged in every scene. If you’ve been itching to watch a horror thriller, this one’s right up your alley with its unexpected twists and bone-chilling turn of events. Blurr is directed by Ajay Bhal, who is one of the screenplay writers alongside Pawan Soni. This film also marks Taapsee Pannu’s debut as a producer in the Bollywood industry.
The compelling plot takes you into the world of Gayatri, who is devastated by her twin sister’s death. The cops who investigate the matter come to the conclusion that there is no foul play involved, ruling it aside as a case of suicide. But Gayatri refuses to believe it and takes matters into her own hands. She sets out on a quest to find the killer but rather finds herself in life-threatening situations with progressive blindness setting in. Gayatri, who is slowly losing her vision, is also losing the ability to trust those around her, which eventually leads her to doubt her own husband, Neal (played by Gulshan Devaiah). The tension felt by Gayatri on screen is perfectly translated into the minds of the audience, which will have you gripping the edge of your seats until the very end.

If you feel a certain uneasiness surrounding you, it’s simply because Ajay Bahl leaves no opportunity to keep it as eerie as possible. Taapsee Pannu’s exceptional acting deserves applause too.
